Mousehouse Christmas Giveaway 2012

Once again I've had lots of fun making and gathering up a few goodies to say a big thank you for reading 'mousehouse' this year- I really appreciate you all! It's been a really busy year with Amelie starting school which dramatically reduced my crafting time (and I thought I'd have more time when she was at school...) and Jack becoming a very busy toddler so my blog posts aren't quite as prolific as they used to be so thank you for still reading! Also a big thank you to all of you that like and comment on my facebook page- I have really enjoyed using my facebook page this year to connect with readers and share ideas.  So here are my Christmas treats for one lucky reader...
* a fat quarter of Riley Blake's Santa's Workshop "White Santa Snowflake" fabric
* an Owl topper pencil
* a Birdy notepad
* A mousehouse waterproof make-up purse
* 4 sheets of Cath Kidston stickers and labels
* a roll of green/white striped washi tape
* a toadstool eraser and pencil sharpener
* 5 metres of christmas coloured bakers twine
* a Babushka christmas decoration
The giveaway is open internationally so anyone can enter- entries will close Wed 12th Dec. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment telling me where you are from. If you would like to you could tell me something you like doing in your hometown/city in the lead up to Christmas - maybe it's going berry picking at a favourite orchard, ice skating at a local rink, going to an annual Christmas market... I'm just really interested in where you're from, how you celebrate christmas in your part of the world or something fun to do in your hometown! (I have a bit of the travelling bug at the moment so can live vicariously through your comments ;) Anyone can comment (and I've taken that word verification thing off) and if you don't have a blog you can comment as an anonymous user- just make sure you leave your email address in the comment.
I would love to be able to use my Facebook page for you to enter the giveaway by leaving a comment on there but after reading their huge list of rules I can't see how I can (if you know how to let me know!) However if you share this giveaway post on Facebook and let me know in the comment section here you'll get another entry! (I'm pretty sure that's allowed!)
So leave a comment to enter - if you're a Facebook liker as well leave another comment for another chance to win, and if you share the giveaway on your blog, facebook or pinterest leave another comment to let me know.
Thank you so much again for reading mousehouse and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.
Megan x

Hi Megan, thank you for such an interesting blog! I'm from Latvia but we live in Sweden for couple of years now. Back home we'd go to the nearest forest, put up candles on a Christmas tree, have tee and cookies with us, would sing and chat, and have a good time.

I we live in Hawkes Bay. We have lots of little Christmas traditions in our family but the nicest by far are making things for the people in our lives that do things for us all the time in their quiet ways. Teachers, posties and neighbours to name a few. It's in giving that we receive!

You inspired me to make christmas stockings for my kids this year (infact, your christmas stockings were one of the things that made me want to start sewing about this time last year) and I can't wait to get the stockings out each year for santa to fill.
Each year over christmas and new years we head down to Moeraki for about a week and play at the beach and take the kids fishing, it is such a wonderful place and a I know it will make great memories for the kids.

Also looking forward to our annual week-long holiday to Papamoa in 2 weeks!

Hi, I am from Curitiba, Brazil. Summer is around the corner, school year about to end. Streets are getting brighter with christmas lights, lots of public presentations around town. Funny thing is that snowman and snowflakes are sold together with all the decorations, but we only got snow here in one historical day in which I wasnt even born.
Anyways, besides putting up the christmas tree (artificial, of course) and starting two advent calendars with my girls, I spent a lot of time putting the lights out in our balconies. It is beautiful! But the huge plan in going to the beach right after christmas, to enjoy the sun and hopefully get some tan!
Hope I win, thanks for the giveaway!

I'm from Edinburgh, but live in Christchurch these days. As you can imagine, Christmas over here is fairly different to what I grew up with. I remember a great family day in front of an open fire, a turkey dinner, relatives around us, doing jigsaws and over eating.
Over here its less formal but still lots of fun. Both Christmases have a lot to say for them!

Christmas... mmm... you see, I haven't been home for Christmas for years. Big bad travel bugs on this side of the world.
This year I'm going with my boyfriend to see his family in Italy; they celebrate with a lunch on the 25th. Primo piato, secondo piato, cheese, dolce, more primo, more secondo, more cheese, more dolce, and it just goes on for hours.

Hi Megan, what a generous giveaway! It doesn't seem very Christmassy here in Wellington just yet as the weather has been pretty rotten. Fingers crossed it will be fabulous for Christmas day! I'm hosting for the very first time and am already starting to wake up in the middle of the night panicking about turkeys!! I have to say that I am hugely looking forward to setting up a long line of tables through the middle of my dining room/living room and having a giant family feast. A perfect opportunity to use the vintage champagne glasses I picked up at the op shop recently - yay!!

Have a fab week hon. Hope the weather is better in your part of the country!

Hullo! We are in Seattle! For Christmas we always ride the holiday carousel downtown, deliver letters to the red Santa mailbox at Macy's, pick names off the neighborhood tree to get gifts for kids in need, and (if we are lucky) take the sled to the steep streets near our house for sledding!

This year our family added a new baby girl (she's just 5 weeks old), so we will have to add some new traditions!

Hello,
I live in small rural community in Southwest Missouri which is nestled in the middle of the beautiful Missouri Ozarks. Though we live in a small rural area there are many activities this time a year to keep one busy. Most towns have there own little Christmas parade in which local churches, schools, businesses and individuals enter floats. Locals line the streets, float riders through candy and all the children run to gather up their fair share. If you were to attend all the local Christmas parades you would most likely see the same floats over and over. However, it is still a great time. School plays and Christmas concerts are also a big hit. Our community host an annual Parent Teacher Org. Christmas Bizarre each year in the High School gym. Each year we take the time to drive through a local park to view the lights and scenery that local businesses sponsor. Living in a small town does not offer large scale displays with lots of hoopla. However, the large scale effort of a few people create many simple hometown events that provide lots of Christmas joy.

Thank you for your generosity. I have a little grand daughter who is budding into quite the little crafter, crocheter, and seamstress who love your gift.

Have a blessed Christmas.
