I did buy one thing- this awesome tea towel from the Esther Diamond Range, Dick Frizzell's "Haberdashery". Isn't it crafty cool?!
I have already got one Esther Diamond tea towel- Martin Popplewell's 'Study for Found' which I stapled onto a canvas for our kitchen.
I am thinking of making a cushion cover with this one though.
And just to top the weekend off- look at what we got to see on Sunday morning down at Ahuriri- a pod of 5 Orca Whales cruising back and forth between the two bays. It was really incredible to see them so close to shore- weren't we lucky!
2 orca's cruising along the shore
it looks really close here!

So so so so so jealous of your Japanese craft haul!!! Look at all that wonderfulness. And a little jealous of the orca whale experience. What a fun weekend!
I'm glad you had a nice time away. Love that teatowel - would make a fab cushion cover. Orcas - exciting to see them so close I bet. And yes, I'm also jealous of all your Japanese crafty goodies!
That teatowel is fantastic Megan and how brilliant to see those orcas so close! Thanks for including my giveaway in your post :o)
Wow how awesome seeing those Orcas so close!! JEALOUS :) Napier is actually one of the towns on the top of my "must see" list! I just love Deco architecture. I visited NZ a few years ago (but missed Napier) and fell in love with it, I'd go back in a flash!
I love Napier! Hope to visit again sometime soon.
Very jealous of your envelope template. I need one!
What a brilliant time you must have had..the orcas...how special!! And all that Japanese fun...weeeeee:)
Sounds like a really lovely time away - and a coffee without kids, lucky gal! Loving the heart installation - and that tea towel is fantastic Joanna x
only noticed the heart thing downtown this morning - very cool. Have finally finished shopping and now just wondering how will all fit in suitcase! Best get to it - need to pack 36 peice bone china Japanese tea set into box to send - somehow. Perhaps wrapped in half price pumpkin patch clothes for the kids for the next ten years :) Will call tomorrow for final chat.
We have plans to head to Napier this year to visit family. I can't wait to see the sites.... will come back to have a look at the places you mentioned!
