Winter Clothes

I love corduroy for kids winter clothes- warm, hardwearing and just a little bit of an old fashioned vibe to it. I went to Spotlight in the weekend when they had their 40% off sale and they had the most gorgeous range of printed corduroy for boys and girls. I bought some of this cream Babushka's cord and made a really quick skirt for my 5 year old for school.

Teamed with a long sleeve top and leggings from JK's in their 25% off sale it's a great little outfit for a small cost really!

I was also lucky last week to find this cute- as brown corduroy Nature Baby dress in Zero To Five (a second hands kids store here in Tauranga and the Mount) for my 3 year old for $9 -score!

Even though it didn't really need it I added a few hearts (inspired by one of my favourite bloggers Clare at Greenvalley Crafts).
This will look so cute with a long sleeve top or merino underneath and some stockings :)
I love sewing....

I've got a whole heap of corduroy to make childrens clothes with too. Seeing yours makes me all the more excited to get on with it!

They do have a fabric range of cord at the moment, I got some of the same Babushka as well as some owls and flowers. Love the outfits, they look fabulous. Might have to pinch the heart idea too ♥

I adore corduroy too. It's such happy fabric. I could see myself in a kelly green corduroy coat... oh yes I could. Thanks for the inspiration :o)

Love corduroy too, both for girls and boys, nice all around. Love the sweet print with the Babooskas.

Gorgeous! I love cord too - it reminds me of my lovely pinafores mum made when I was little.

The addition of the little hearts is a great way to personalize the dress - I wouldn't have been able to help myself either!
We are needing winter clothes here down south - am going to participate in kids clothes week challenge April 23 - 30th , organised by Elsie marley http://www.elsiemarley.com/kids-clothes-week-spring-2012.html. A great way to motivate me to get into some sewing.

haha at first I thought you were making a comment about the weather here in Alberta--winter just won't go away and then I remembered that you are just starting your cooler season!

I love corduroy too and those hearts on the jumper takes it to the cutest ever level. It doesn't wear well for boys and their knees though, but cute patches extend their life (the pant's not the boy's lives).

I've never seen cute printed corduroy before and the dolls are so cute! You're girl is lucky to have a sewer for a mom.

Libby (who is waiting for some nice warm weather to come her way)

Hi - I have just found your blog and feel more confident to start learning to sew. You have learned so much in just a couple of years. Like you were, I am 'scared' of my sewing machine! Seeing what you have achieved will spur me to give it a go. Lily. xxx
